Our Summer Socks & Underwear Drive, benefiting our neighbors at Caridad Community Kitchen, is underway! From August 11 – 17, you can donate socks, underwear, wipes, hand sanitizer, and toilet paper to those experiencing homelessness.
Summer Socks & Underwear Drive Promotes Health and Dignity
Providing socks and underwear to Caridad Community Kitchen’s unhoused guests is crucial because these basic items are often in short supply but essential for hygiene and dignity. Particularly during the hotter months of the year in Tucson, clean socks and underwear help prevent infections, provide comfort, and improve overall well-being. For those experiencing homelessness, having access to these necessities can make a significant difference in their daily lives, offering not just physical relief but also a sense of care and respect from the community.
What Kinds of Socks & Underwear to Give
Following is a list of items in high demand:
- Socks (Men and women’s one-size-fits-all)
- Underwear (Men and women’s in standard sizes: small, medium, large and extra large. Larger sizes are not in great demand.)
- Wipes
- Hand sanitizer
- Toilet paper
Please only donate clean and newly purchased items.
How To Make A Donation
There are two easy ways to give:
- Purchase items from Caridad’s Amazon wishlist
- Drop off donations at Caridad Community Kitchen’s front desk between 9:30 AM and 1 PM, Monday through Friday. Caridad is located at 845 N Main Ave, Tucson, AZ 85705.
