#HungerWalk2024 – Get Ready!

Make the most of your #HungerWalk2024!

If you haven’t signed up yet for HungerWalk, now’s the time. And if you’ve signed up already, think about how you can make the most impact with your walk. Maybe that means you reach out to your friends, neighbors and family and invite them to join you. Maybe you invite them to donate if they can’t be there in person. HungerWalk is more fun when you share it with someone.

It’s all about community

Here’s what we know: Ending hunger will take all of us working together. That’s why seeing a big crowd gathered to walk and raise awareness means so much. We’re in this fight together, and the families, teams, friends and neighbors gathering Saturday morning, September 14th make a great start. Form a team, choose a name and promote yourself to captain! Lead the way. You’ll find a lot of support if you just ask. Take a look at the toolkit we’ve prepared to help you. It’s got  sample social media posts, graphics you can download, and a selfie sign you can personalize to spread the word.

See you Saturday, September 14th

Whether you’re walking in Tucson at Sam Lena Park in the Kino Sports Complex or in Green Valley at Historic Canoa Ranch, registration opens at 7am. Come on out, pick up your #Hungerwalk2024 T-shirt, enjoy some light refreshments and games. We walk promptly at 8am, so give yourself some time to park and enjoy the pre-walk fun.

Make #HungerWalk2024 a beginning

If you’re walking in Tucson, you’ll start at Sam Lena Park, then cross Country Club and walk right through our warehouse. Don’t rush it. Take some time to think about the thousands of people who enter our building each year to pick up emergency food. As you pass by the assembly line, picture volunteers working five days a week to pack the 450,000 boxes we distributed last year. See the scale of our work and the amount of food that’s needed to address food insecurity in Arizona. Then step outside to our garden where people learn to #growyourownfood. As you leave and head back to the park, think about how you’ll continue to do your part in fighting hunger.

Do you have any time to volunteer? Hold a food drive? Raise awareness of the challenge of hunger?
